The Highway Women were formed in 2016 by a group of female country artists who early in their lives fell in love with outlaw country music. The raw and authentic sound has stimulated and inspired The Highway Women in the music and lyrics they create. A major contributor to their inspiration came from legendary artists such as Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson, also known as The Highwaymen.

The Highway Women found it fitting to both honor and pay tribute to their heroes, The Highwaymen, by releasing a cover of the #1 hit in 1985 “Highwayman” as their first release. This would also define the direction of the band’s outlaw country sound and music that The Highway Women have and will create.

KK Bodiford, Amelia Presley, Sara Spicer, and Courtney Lynn are members of The Highway Women. Although each have solo careers, they have taken a break from them to dedicate their talent and time to The Highway Women. Their pursuit is to create a unique and authentic sound, which is rarely found in today’s country music.

The Highway Women enter 2017 focused on using the success and notoriety of their tribute cover, “Highwayman” and recent original release “Deep Waters,” to continue to draw attention to their music. In a short time, they have already gained a strong following in the US, and have been picked up by European radio stations as well.

In 2017, the band will be completing their first album to be released later this year, and have recently embarked on a nationwide tour while continuing to create music inspired by the raw, gritty, soulful sound and lifestyle that we call outlaw country.
